Oktoberfest at Bembridge Harbour
aturday 22nd September from 1730 at the Duver Marina, in support of The Sophie Rolf Trust - KissyPuppy
Last year was the first running of Oktoberfest, and this year promises to be bigger and better, with 2 great bands and more heaters (last year it did get a bit nippy!).
The event takes inspiration from the tradition of German beer festivals (another tradition is to hold Oktoberfest in September!) - with a distinctly Island flavour and featuring locally produced and sourced food, beers and ales. The Duver Cafe will be dishing up Bratwurst Sausages made specially by Woodfords Butchers in Bembridge Village - a full menu will be available here shortly. The Water Horse Box Bar will be serving up Island made beers, ales and spirits as well as soft drinks (note: the Duver Cafe accepts credit cards but the Bar is cash only).
There'll be live music from 5.30pm starting with the Jukebox Jazz Trio, performing upbeat covers of Old Time Jazz and Skiffle tunes by way of banjos, cornet, tubas, trombones, and anything else they can get their hands on!
All Washed Up (pictured above) will follow - an eclectic mix of banjo, mandolin, ukulele, guitar, bass, harmonica, washboard and tea chest bass, influenced by blues, bluegrass and skiffle - it's guaranteed to be a noisy, lively evening of fun! Music will finish at about 10.15pm.
Tickets: adults £6, under 15s £3 and under 5s free. Tickets available online.
