Local Information
The Harbour is home to two active and vibrant sailing clubs, a commercial fishing fleet, the Island’s largest angling club, and numerous businesses associated with water-based activities including boat building/repair/restoration, boat charter, dinghy and kayak hire, chandlery, sail making, powerboat/jet ski training and much more.
The thriving villages of Bembridge and St Helens offer a plethora of independent shops, restaurants, cafes and pubs. Art, crafts and local produce abound and freshly caught seafood is available - trying the local crab is a must!
There’s much to occupy visitors in this beautiful, unspoilt and historic corner of the Island. The area in and around the Harbour has been designated a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) and includes an RSPB site. There are numerous walks, nature trails and beautiful beaches to explore, and local leisure facilities well able to cater for the more energetic. A wide range of accommodation caters for most tastes and requirements.
