Bembridge RNLI Lifeboat and Hampshire Police Marine Support Unit
A wonderful sight at the Family Fun Weekend each year is the
Bembridge RNLI Tamar Lifeboat which comes into Bembridge Harbour and welcome visitors on board for a Tour. It's an amazing vessel and well worth a visit, but sadly they will be absent this year because they have a Naming Ceremony and Service of Dedication of a new lifeboat - D-912 SUE taking place at the Bembridge Lifeboat Station on Saturday 1st August.
Similarly, we regularly welcome the
Hampshire Police Marine Support Unit into the Harbour with their 13m Delta Cabin RIB, ‘Police RIB Defender’, but they are always hugely busy, and this year is also the 200th Anniversary of Cowes Week regatta, with lots of extra visitors and VIPs, so they will be fully deployed at that event. They both hope to be back at the Family Fun Weekend next year, and we look forward to seeing them then ...!
