Crabbing Competition - Sunday 14th August
from 9am
A firm favourite and hotly contested!! PLEASE REGISTER at the Berthing Office anytime before 9am on Sunday, when there'll be a briefing to outline the Rules before crab catching begins (crabs found in buckets before 9am will be put back in the water). Please be very gentle with the crabs you catch.
Your crab haul can be officially counted anytime up to 10am when the Finishing Hooter will sound. Crabs will be returned very carefully by staff members into the Harbour.
There are age specific categories for the greatest number of crabs, and prizes for the largest crab, youngest crabber etc (please put tiny crabs back in the water - there is no prize for the smallest crab). There's a separate category for adults, but children are not allowed to help the grown ups!
Hookless crabbing lines, buckets and free bait are available from the Galley Locker in Berthing Office - please be aware, that unlike Olivia in the picture, nets are not allowed to be used in the Competition.
A Prizegiving will be held at about 1030 or a bit later (when counting has finished).
